What is affiliate marketing?
An Affiliate Marketer is someone who sells a product for a company and in return receives a commission. Commissions awarded vary from company to company depending on their Affiliate Program setup, at Horse Cleaning we allocate 8% commissions on each product sold. An Affiliate Marketer doesn’t carry any inventory or likewise has no say in the product price. It is a relatively low-risk venture for the individual and depending on the individual’s work ethic and ambition this programme can have high earning potentials!
There are no cost’s associated with being an Affiliate, however, when running a successful marketing business there will be a website or advertising costs to drive traffic to our website, but this is entirely at the individual’s discretion.
How does it work?
Individuals first have to apply for an Affiliate role and complete our application form, we then review the application and if successful you’ll be invited to join a web meeting where our team will discuss the programme in more detail and upon completion of the introduction session you will be provided access to our Affiliate Hub.
From within the Affiliate Hub, you can create unique Affiliate links (referral links) which you then share online. These links can be placed onto any advert, landing page or other marketing tools. It’s worth noting here that to become a successful Affiliate you should have a blog site, website, YouTube channel or any other active social media channel such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. The larger the audience, the higher conversions generally.
Where practical, you would share links, posts and other content via these various channels driving traffic to our website, but taking special care as to not spam any channels.
When somebody has clicked your unique referral link, they will be redirected to our website, where they can review our products and complete a purchase. Upon a completed transaction, you will be awarded 8% commission which can then be exchanged for store credit to purchase products for yourself.
Referral links will still credit commission up to 30 days from the time the person clicked your link. In other words, if Daisy selected the link on your advert for Whitening Shampoo but did not complete the purchase during that specific visit. However, Daisy returned 10 days later and then completed the purchase for the Whitening Shampoo via our website, you will still be credited the commission for that product.
It’s worth noting here, however, that if Daisy bought the Whitening Shampoo through any of our other outlets you would not be awarded the commission, Daisy would have to complete the purchase through our website for you to be awarded.
As the referral lead you will also be credited lifetime commission on following transactions via the website even if your referral link is not used. For example, since Daisy first completed a transaction via your referral link each transaction after via our website will result in 8% commission being aligned to your Affiliate account. After all, it’s only fair you continue to benefit from your referral’s additional purchases!
What are the general rules when posting Horse Cleaning content and links?
Our company views on this subject are quite strict; you must ensure any published content is targeted to the right audience and will offer value to the target audience. Do not post referral links just for the sake of posting this offers no value to readers, damages our brand value and overall content you post should be engaging and not just a referral link.
People do not like to be“sold” too, they instead require between 5-7 touchpoints, these touchpoints can be various types of information about a solution or product. In time customers when ready will make a decision when to complete a transaction, at no stage should any Affiliate be forceful in trying to secure a purchase, this is against our core values, is bad customer service and disliked by many.
Failure to follow the touchpoint process will result in fewer conversions and more than likely result in a platform report for nuisance/ spam content.
It’s incredibly important to ensure that you’re not spamming a post or feed of another individual unless they are asking for product recommendations in which case it would be acceptable to post one referral link.
If another Affiliate has provided a recommendation or referral link, do not add any further links as this would be deemed as thread hijacking.
If you have posted a topic or comment, do not bump more than once every seven days. Bumping content every day is considered spamming.
Spamming is totally against our values, and we condemn this 100%. Spamming can lead to your Affiliate link not working correctly, or worse case resulting in a platform banning our links. If we discover incidents of spamming activity, your account will be investigated and potentially closed down, any outstanding or pending commissions will be forfeited.
How Are Commissions Exchanged?
Referral commissions are exchanged for store credit; store credit is then used to discount our products for your purchase. Having an extensive referral network can result in a continuous commission being applied to your store account thus you can order our products effectively free of charge and at no cost to you! For larger referral accounts store credit can be exchanged for a PayPal cash withdrawal.
